Managing Technology Use in Young Children: Setting Healthy Boundaries

In today’s digital world, managing screen time can feel like one of parenting’s trickiest balancing acts. That’s why we’re excited to invite you to a special workshop with Lauren Parsio, MA, LPC — a licensed psychotherapist, child development expert, and proud CCNS alumni parent of two boys, now ages 8 and 10.

Lauren will guide us through the latest research and practical strategies around technology use in early childhood. Together, we’ll explore big questions like:

  • How much screen time is appropriate for preschool-aged children?
  • What does current brain science say about the impact of technology on attention, learning, and behavior?
  • How can we introduce tech-free routines without triggering power struggles or meltdowns?

This workshop is all about empowering parents. You’ll walk away with playful, effective tools to help your child build a healthy relationship with technology from the start — without guilt or overwhelm. We’ll talk about boundary-setting that works, screen-free activities that support learning and connection, and how to shift family routines to make space for creativity and calm.

There will also be time for Q&A, so bring your real-life challenges, and let’s work through them together in community.

Whether you’re already navigating screens in your home or just want to get ahead of the curve, this is a great opportunity to gain insight and support from a fellow parent who truly understands both the research and the day-to-day reality.

Please RSVP to educ.dir@ccnsct.org by Monday April 21st. We hope to see you there!!
