At CCNS, we understand that the transition from preschool to Kindergarten is a significant milestone for both children and their families. With our commitment to educating the whole child — socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually — we are here to support you through every step of this exciting journey.
We are excited to invite you to The Kindergarten Journey, an informative and interactive workshop designed to help families prepare for this important next step. Please join us on Tuesday, March 25th at 7:30 PM at CCNS for this special event, led by our experienced Educational Director Dana Gorman.
During the workshop, we will explore what a “typical” Kindergarten class looks like — from daily schedules and classroom structure to academic and social-emotional expectations. Understanding these elements is key to helping children feel confident and prepared as they enter their next phase of learning.

In alignment with our learning-through-play philosophy, the workshop will also provide practical tips on how to foster your child’s independence, encourage social skills, and reinforce early academic concepts. Our emergent-based curriculum recognizes the value of play as a primary vehicle for learning, and this workshop will highlight ways to extend that approach at home to ease the Kindergarten transition.
We will also discuss the recent changes to Kindergarten entrance age and explore various educational pathways. There will be dedicated time for Q&A, ensuring you have the opportunity to ask questions specific to your child’s journey.
This event is open to everyone — both CCNS families and friends outside our community are welcome. RSVP to educ.dir@ccnsct.org to reserve your spot.
At CCNS, we believe that when children’s natural curiosities are nurtured, they gain the confidence to become lifelong learners. We look forward to supporting you and your child as you take this important next step together.
